“Difficult is not bad. Difficult is not impossible. Difficult is just difficult, and you can do difficult things.”
I wrote this awhile ago and I think it’s appropriate now more than it was then…If you could talk to your younger self what would you say?
You live. Not only do you live but you flourish into all the things you wished you were. Your best is ALWAYS good enough, even when it’s not. Barriers become the stepping stones you need to keep moving forward. And damn do you keep moving forward. You live even when you think you’re going to die. You turn every experience into a valuable lesson-whether it’s repeated or never spoken about again. You teach other people but you learn even more. And you never stop learning. Because to stop learning would be to stop growing. You don’t know how not to give 100% of yourself to the people you care about and the things you believe in. Sometimes this hurts, but it’s mostly a good quality. At your young age, you’ve lived through more than most people go through in a lifetime. Embrace this. It’s ok to hurt, it’s ok to cry, and it’s ok to be lost for awhile. Just make sure you always find yourself again. Only YOU can save yourself. Although a big task, it’s worth it every. single. time. Because YOU are worth saving.
From not knowing what to do after my bachelor’s, to signing up for grad school, to almost dropping out after the hardest 6 months of my life right at the end of my degree, I can officially say…I am Brittany F. Morrone, Master of Science in Exercise Science. It’s FINALLY over 🎉👩🏽🎓
